Your aftercare ointment &
wash will be provided for you.
HOW IS THE HEALING PROCESS?
Healing time varies per person & can be prolonged if your immune system is compromised/overly stressed/poor diet/health. It takes 2 weeks for surface skin to heal & 6-8 weeks for full skin healing.
You may experience the following symptoms for the first few days:
-
Minor swelling and redness, mild tenderness or bruising.
-
Itchiness in and around the treatment area can last up to 2 months.
-
DAY 1 Immediately after
brows will appear darker, reddish color,
thicker and more defined looking unnatural. -
DAY 2-4 Brows WILL get darker as light scabs form.
-
DAY 4-14 You will experience dry flaking skin (due to scabbing).
When done flaking it will appear muted, greyish and look shiny.
Once fully healed the colour will fade 30-50%, as it starts to soften and look less defined. As the skin sheds, the tattoo may seem to disappear as the colour has not fully settled or surfaced yet. It will take about a month+ for the brows to heal to its true colour.
Do not be concerned once healed if your brows do not look perfectly full and are patchy, this is normal and will be added at the touch-up sessions.
BE PATIENT, your brows will go through several phases during the healing cycle.
how to wash
WASH HANDS BEFORE
-
WASH: Wet a cotton pad with lukewarm water. Place a bit of baby shampoo on it, with a very light touch, gently cleanse the brow outwards.
-
RINSE: Wet a new cotton
pad to rinse the brows. Gently wipe the brow outwards.
-
DRY: Gently PAT with a new dry cotton pad. Wait 2 minute for eyebrows to fully air dry.
-
OINTMENT: Apply a THIN layer (rice grain size) with a
Q-tip using a new end for each brow. The ointment should be barely noticeable on the skin. Do not be alarmed if you see some pigment/flakes on the Q-tip* NEVER PUT THE OINTMENT ON A WET OR DAMP TATTOO.
DAY 1
30mins after the appointment you must wash the brows, Then continue to wash every 2hours.
Follow steps 1-4 on how to wash.
Washing must be done 5x during the 1st day. This will remove bacteria, dead skin, lymph(body fluid).
Ointment
Is applied everytime after
washing.
DAY 2-14
Wash once in the morning & night only. Repeating the steps 2 to 4 on how to wash.
Ointment
Through out the day apply a THIN layer of ointment to keep moisturized.
NORMAL/DRY SKIN 3-4x a day.
OILY SKIN 2-3x a day.
(oil from the skin acts as lubrication.)
TIPS
* Bathing is recommended or
limit your showers to 5 minutes.
DO NOT create steam. Keep your face out of the water while you wash your body, then at the end of your shower, wash your hair. After showering follow step 3-4 on How to wash.
* Sleep on your back during the healing process to avoid friction on the brows. Silk pillow cases are great.
The goal is to have your skin flake off naturally. You want your
scabs to be semi-dry and lightly moisturized to stay flexible.
( NOT overly dry out the area, as you don’t want it to form into large scabs & DO NOT over- apply the ointment, this will make it greasy, soft & soggy).
If the scabbing phase is not over by 14 days, please continue your Aftercare instructions until scabs are completely gone.
